My little bit of PARADISE....

paradise....



i love this photo. i took it during our recent trip to the beach. did i say that i LOVE this photo..lol? first of all i LOVE the beach..all beaches, any beaches... i just LOVE them. there is something about the ocean that is calming, relaxing, quiet and just peaceful. i need peaceful. i need quiet and calming and..well i need relaxing too...especially now.

my life, our life is just trying at times and right now is one of those trying times.
i just do not like the "unknown"....i know, i know, not liking the "unknown" is not exactly how our dear Lord wants us to be... but, me ...i for one am not perfect and i worry and i stress and i claim to have faith, but do i? really,... do I have faith in the One that can calm my worries and stress and fears?

um..well...not always, and not like i should. i struggle with this and i am sure i will for a long time. BUT, He is here with me as i stress and worry and have doubts and fears. He is ever present and will protect me and that does help my faith grow.

so, i will gladly take the trying times as they come. afterall, they build my faith.

Spring Break 2009

here are a few more pictures from our trip to the beach. i love this one of my samuel! i swear he is a FISH (or some other sea creature for that fact LOL) trapped in a little boy's body! he LOVES the beach and the waves and the sand and the shells and the salt and ...well you get the picture.



and, here is princess gabi (the complete opposite of her brother samuel)! she does not like the waves or the ocean or the sea gulls...especially not the sea gulls :) ! it was hard to get any pictures of her because she was so terrified a wave was going to get her or a seagull was going to swoop down on her lol...she crackes me up! i was able to get a few pics of her. i cannot believe she is almost going to be THREE! oh how she has changed....

did i mention that i am now shooting for the cover of G.Q.? ha ha, just kidding but, doesn't johnny look like he should be on the next cover of G.Q. :)? he is just so full of attitude, yet such a sweet kid. he has a smart mouth, yet is a GREAT help with the little ones. he doesn't always turn in his schoolwork on time, yet pulls off an "A" in PRE-AP classes!!! he is....well... a TEEN! he is my BIG baby and will be 14 in 2 months, oh where has the time gone :(

family photo session

after samuel's little "injury" (read previous post) we were finally able to make it down to the beach for a family photo shoot. as so many of you all know, i LOVE taking pictures, scrapbooking pictures, looking at pictures and so on. i think these photos came our pretty good and i am happy to say that i DID not have to pay a small fortune to get great pics of my kiddos. enjoy!

 

 

 

 

Laughter Lives on

Another great and FUN idea from the Riggs family. Boy can I contribute to this! With 3 children (a teen, a preschooler and a GIRL toddler) I need to laugh or just go plain crazy!

Samuel (my pre-schooler) has been having some trouble "listening" and "following" directions at preschool. Ok...well he has been FLAT-OUT refusing to nap and remain quiet during nap time and TODAY he even TALKED-BACK to his teacher...but WHATEVER (i am SO not over this yet)!!

Of course i find this out when i pick him up (after a long day with my teen...THAT is another post) so I ask him about it on the way home....."Samuel, why did you choose to not listen to your teacher today? It does not make me happy to hear that you made the wrong choices today"

...silence....silence....more silence...."samuel?"...

"um...um....um....well..well,um...i..i..um..
maybe it was not a listening day for me."

WRONG answer, but I could not help but LAUGH, out loud...really loud and them almost wet my pants (sorry, but it is true)! :)

"uh, when do you think it will be a listening day for you"?

"mommy, i think tomorrow might be, we will just have to see"
